Looking Forward to SXSWi 2014

The countdown has begun.

Michelle and I will be headed to SXSW Interactive (SXSWi) in just over a week, and if it’s anything like it was last year it’ll be five full days of fascinating and overwhelming talks and panels that will help my business brain and creative brain.

Looking through the schedule I’m noticing a lot of similar talks as last year. Data is big. UX is big. Wearable tech is big.

My goal is simple: to attend talks that will help me develop new skills and knowledge to make Commerce Kitchen better. Some of the talks will do that. Some of them will be duds. There will be parties and tacos and rabid startups with names that end in .ly or “ify” spreading their swag across Austin.

Unfortunately I was unable to get my startup idea up and running for SXSW, but Get Rid of Your Swag.ly is still a great idea and would inundate Austin-area thrift stores and homeless shelters with a ridiculous number of free startup t-shirts.
